The university earns STARS Platinum in version 3.0, the highest score under the sustainability rating system.
Joe spearheaded the implementation of the Zero Waste Building System for the School of Medicine, resulting in annual cost savings and waste reduction. He also implemented a successful recycling program for polystyrene shipping containers in the School of Medicine, the largest producer of such items on campus. Joe’s collaboration and community engagement were instrumental in the success of these waste reduction programs. In addition to diverting waste from landfills, Joe’s efforts had the added benefit of significant cost savings for the School of Medicine, earning him this prestigious recognition.
