Join Sustainable Stanford's journey

The university has reduced scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 80% from peak levels and is operating with 100% renewable electricity. In order to reach net zero emissions by 2050 and zero waste by 2030, Stanford continues to undertake major ongoing initiatives to reduce energy and water use, apply stringent environmental standards to all new buildings, encourage sustainable living, promote low-impact transportation, conserve natural resources, and decrease waste, even with continued campus growth.

Sustainability Data Hub

Follow along in Stanford's journey towards its climate commitments through a future Sustainability Data Hub, which will showcase campus progress in emissions, renewable energy, water, waste, and transportation compared to baseline years of measurement. Data will be available for download to increase transparency and accountability, as well as to further the institution's mission of using the campus as a living laboratory.
