Peninsula Sanitary Service, Inc. (PSSI) has been serving Stanford for over 80 years. After a three-year competitive bid process, it was awarded a new 10-year contract to continue waste operations on campus and provide new services that offer multiple benefits to the campus community. “PSSI and the Pellegrini Family are honored to continue their successful multi-generational partnership with the university in planning for and achieving pragmatic zero waste goals,” shares Louie Pellegrini, President, PSSI.
The university put its waste service provider contract out for competitive bidding to ensure the campus community receives high-quality services that are safe, reliable, and efficient at competitive rates, and to find an innovative partner to help achieve Stanford’s Zero Waste by 2030 goal, diverting 90% or more of its waste from landfill.
Amidst an ever changing regulatory landscape and the fluctuating recycling markets, Stanford is grateful for one constant — a continued partnership with PSSI, which understands our campus operations and customer needs well.
