Stanford’s world-class golf course is making water management a priority, teeing up golf to be a sustainable sport.
A staple in almost every biology lab is an Ultra Low Temperature (ULT) freezer that stores samples at -80F. There are hundreds of these freezers around the university, and each one can use up to five times the energy of a standard residential refrigerator.
The Energy Retrofit Program (ERP) program offers rebates for labs to purchase high-efficiency compressor-based or liquid nitrogen freezers as either replacement or new purchases. View the table below to see maximum rebate amounts for different types of freezer models:
