This category includes Stanford’s Downstream Leased Assets, or emissions associated with the operation of properties that Stanford leases to others. This includes:

• Stanford Health Care
• Lucille Packard Children’s Hospital
• SLAC
• Stanford Research Park
• Faculty Staff Housing

The Scope 3 Emissions Program, housed in Business Affairs, was launched in 2021 and directs emissions quantification and emissions mitigation in each of the eight categories. A summary of emissions in each category for baseline year 2019 can be found in the 2019 Scope 3 Emissions Inventory.
