Lights, Camera, (Eco)-Action!

What do Dr. Arun Majumdar, the Dean of the Stanford Doerr School of Sustainability (SDSS) and Dr. Hildemann, Senior Associate Dean of Education for SDSS have in common? They are both showcased in this short video, created by senior Justin Donohugh for his capstone project.  

Justin, an Earth Systems student on the Sustainable Food and Agriculture track took advantage of his film skills to support one of the Office of Sustainability’s goals - highlighting the importance of Stanford’s new Zero Waste Building System. Justin helped rethink how to communicate about waste to faculty and staff on campus - distilling down a complex topic in to easy to understand guidance in under three minutes. This project is an example of how the campus can be used as a “living lab”-  leveraging academic partnerships to solve real operational sustainability challenges on campus.
