Turn off for break to save energy over the holidays!

Since 2001, Stanford has turned off heating systems and encouraged conservation behaviors of building occupants during the holiday breaks to save energy. Last year’s efforts alone saved 1.3 million kWh of electricity, the equivalent of avoiding over 688 metric tons of carbon dioxide emissions. Easy but impactful actions you can take to contribute to our tradition of energy conservation include

- powering down electronics, like computers and printers

- unplugging any ancillary devices, like desk lamps
