Across campus our community has banded together to support Stanford's resilience in the campus response and recovery planning in the wake of the global pandemic. Collaborating with departments across Land, Buildings and Real Estate and the broader campus, the Office of Sustainability supported this effort in a number of ways. Building on its culture of assessment and evaluation, the Office has collected monthly data since shelter-in-place began in March to understand how largely virtual operations has impacted campus resource consumption, revealing double-digit percentage reductions across all categories including energy, water, waste and commuter emissions. The Office also supported creation of tools and resources to aid recovery plans and restart processes for facilities teams, and developed a suite of graphics to support communication on recovery and the framework through which the university will progress through the various phases.
