The Office of Sustainability constantly assesses opportunities for improvement across campus, and embeds the culture of sustainability into all aspects of campus life and operations. This year, Sustainable Stanford increased partnerships with students to enhance behavioral change toward campus sustainability. As part of the Roble Living Laboratory for Sustainability at Stanford, the Roble Sustainability Team empowered residents to live more sustainability through a My Cardinal Green Inter Hall Competition. 183 engaged residents earned 10,000 points on My Cardinal Green, and saved over 15,000 pounds of carbon dioxide and over $4,000 through individual behavior changes in two months. The competition also sparked conversation between Roble residents about what it means to live sustainability, while showcasing how small steps toward sustainability can greatly reduce energy consumption.
