Building Managers - Waste

Main content start

Facilities and building managers play a key role in achieving Stanford’s sustainability goals. Explore the tools below to support your work.

A phone equipped with the Zabble Zero app scans a compost bin using AI to identify the fullness and contamination in the bin.

Wise About Waste

To stay aligned with state laws and make progress towards our zero waste goal, the Office of Sustainability conducts regular inspections of the interior waste collection system. These inspections are essential for maintaining the waste standards and ensuring the infrastructure is set up for maximum recycling and diversion. With the help of a third-party mobile app, we assess contamination and gather valuable insights that fuel our programming and support effective sorting. After each inspection, building managers will receive a helpful post-inspection report outlining findings and actionable steps. Have questions about a recent inspection? Let's connect and work together to create a more sustainable campus.

Rediscover Reuse

Looking to donate used furniture or equipment prior to a move or new construction? Looking to source free, gently used items for your building? Stanford’s ReUse website allows you to post unwanted items directly to the site and gives you an opportunity to obtain free, new-to-you items for your building. This provides an opportunity for furniture and equipment to be reused on campus - saving time, money, and resources!
