Celebrating Sustainability - Earth Week
April 22nd marks the national celebration of Earth Day, and represents a remarkable legacy for the university. The inaugural event was organized across the nation by Stanford alum Denis Hayes. Decades later, we continue to honor this legacy and use the opportunity to reflect on sustainability as a core value at Stanford, as well as the integral role we each play in making that vision a reality.
Earth Day, Everyday
The Office of Sustainability carefully studied and identified key individual actions that are easy to adopt, yet make a big difference by conserving resources, reducing costs, and engaging our campus community. Faculty, staff, and students participated year-round by through the My Cardinal Green program, which offered personalized recommendations of actions to reduce their environmental footprint.
