Why were you interested in the Building Level Sustainability Program?
Why were you interested in the Building Level Sustainability Program?
Stanford University provides a tremendous amount of resources and capital to their students, faculty and staff, but with those resources comes great responsibility. I'm thrilled to be able to work with others within Sweet Hall and across the entire campus to try and minimize Stanford's environmental impact while enhancing our level of services and quality of life.
What has been your favorite part of program implementation?
What has been your favorite part of program implementation?
For me the best part of the program has been the culmination of several different projects and approaches to Stanford, the moment when everything came together and the sum of our efforts suddenly became tangible and substantial.
What advice do you have for others interested in the program?
What advice do you have for others interested in the program?
That there's no time like the present – it is all too easy to put off improvements and changes to your routine, under the assumption that you'll have more time to deal with it at some point in the future. But ultimately, if you want to create change, there is no better opportunity to begin exploring new options and new partnerships than right now.

Why were you interested in the Building Level Sustainability Program?
I want to help make a difference in our conservation efforts and this was an opportunity to get involved and learn more about sustainability. I think the building level program is important because it teaches us how simple every day changes we make can have a positive lasting impact. Saving energy = saving money and I can incorporate some of these measures at home as well.

What has been your favorite part of program implementation?
We work in such an eclectic and creative environment! It’s been fun hearing great ideas from colleagues and getting positive feedback from the occupants. Everyone has been very cooperative and folks really seem to care. We’ve also learned about great online resources for finding certified green products to help us make better consumer choices.
